      The states with the highest amount of drug use (WV, MD, NH, OH) are NOT the states with the highest amount of homelessness. But, weirdly enough, the states with the highest median rent (HI, CA, NJ, NY, WA) also have the highest homelessness

        There are basically two exceptions: Maryland and Virginia, which have high median rent and low-ish homelessness. This is only because the Washington DC area skews the rent numbers higher. Maryland is extra weird because it has high drug use, high rent, and low homelesness
