My expectations for Wonder Egg Priority are at an all time low right now. I've waited all season for this.
-
So the one on 9anime is only 23 minutes, trying to fix that
-
am I being fucked with did only half of it come out or something?
-
we have been tricked, bamboozled, and quite possible hoodwinked
-
Alright comrades we're watching it legally *shudders*
-
It's only in Japanese on Funi
-
THE EGG THREAD IS OFF HOLD BITCHES LET'S RIDE
-
Like how I did all this for a recap
-
This is like watching a student who asked for an extension for the essay still pad half the whole thing
-
Listen, if I paid dozens of foreign animators a fraction of a living wage with no contract or benefits to animate 11 episodes of footage I'd squeeze that back out into a recap episode too okay?
-
Egg: "Remember the Frill episode" Me: "I was trying very hard to forget, actually, but thanks"
-
20 minutes in and no new footage
-
So I THINK this is new from 25 minutes onward
-
Neiru and Ai awkwardly talk about the weather before saying bye. Wow it's just like my life
-
I am confused and in distress
-
They're playing the ED diagetically and it's causing me psychic damage
-
maybe, instead of a RECAP you could've spent that time ADDRESSING SAWAKI SENSEI okay it's fine breathe breathe
-
guys I don't know I don't know how to commentate this
-
I am going to need a minute
-
So Baker's Dozen egg isn't rushed in the same way 11th and 12th egg were rushed. But it's also like, not... done? The story doesn't end. Instead, it continues to just add more and more plot points until it runs out of time
-
cw // spoilers I think with Sawaki-sensei, what happened was that our Koito, who was a victim, was replaced with a quantum many-worlds Koito, who was instead an abuser herself. But they don't have the time to flesh this out and that hurts the story a ton
-
My best guess is that this episode was already started in production, but was never finished enough to air due to the well-known production problems behind the scenes. The network gave it an extra episode to finish, then came back later and said "actually you have an hour now"
-
But even if that were true, if you have 12 episodes, why would your last episode not... end the series? Why would it just ask more and more and more questions and then unceremoniously stop at the end? There's clearly a writing issue somewhere
-
I think I'm ending the thread here. I need to think about this more. I have way more thoughts, both on egg and the industry as a whole and on this episode in specific, but they are not coherent
