Oh boy I have a few uh Lily Orchard's video on Steven Universe was mostly correct, however she was super obsessed with calling Rebecca Sugar specifically a bad and incompetent person and not analyzing the text.     Steven Universe is basically a shounen anime that wants to subvert the idea that shounen protagonists need to solve every problem with fighting. This does not work when the show constantly comes up with antagonists that can only be defeated by fighting them.

      The Diamonds are fascists, sure, but forget them for a sec. The two Lapises in SU:F commit ecocide and can only be stopped through violence. The show somehow insists using violence to stop this violence was a bad thing - a weakness. How? Shit don't make no sense
